CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING

At Parch Hill we believe all children have an absolute right to a childhood free from abuse, neglect or exploitation. All adults involved in our activities have a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children we work with.

We work closely with parents and schools to ensure our programmes are delivered safely. All staff and volunteers receive training in safeguarding and child protection before being allocated to a Parch Hill Centre, Online or our partner school. This includes understanding why safeguarding matters, being able to identify different types of abuse, becoming familiar with Parch Hill’s code of conduct and knowing how to respond to a suspicion or allegation.

POLICIES AND INFORMATION

Here you will find a copy of our Safeguarding and Child Protection policy: Parch Hill Safeguarding Policy

Here you will find a copy of our Safeguarding and Child Protection leaflet, given to all tutor and mentor volunteers at their initial training: Parch Hill Safeguarding Leaflet

Any questions or concerns about safeguarding can be directed to Parch Hill’s safeguarding officer, Hasan Ali via: hello@parchhill.org.uk

The Parch Hill Story

Parch Hill has been dedicated to helping families across the UK from 2013. We deliver Maths and English tuition to children aged 5-16,the very foundation of their education. Launched as a response to bridging the education gap, Parch Hill believes that all children can achieve their maximum potential with the appropriate guidance, preparation and mentoring; regardless of their background.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Hasan Ali

I founded Parch Hill because of my childhood educational experiences. Being a Free School Meal Pupil (FSM) myself, I faced many challenges at school yet managed to achieve fantastic GCSE grades. Not having the same opportunities as other children presented the single biggest challenge for me. My parents simply couldn’t afford the same educational & financial support that other children received. Struggling to teach me themselves, they had to save hard to give me the same opportunities as others and it was surely not easy for them. It was this journey that led me to my mission, to reduce the widening education ‘gap’. From a very young age, I believed in making the same educational opportunities available
